National Marking Practices:

Small arms and light weapons (SALW) manufactured in Bulgaria are marked at the point of manufacture with a unique, user-friendly alphanumeric identifier that allows for their easy, reliable and timely identification. Licensed SALW manufacturers are obligated to mark every firearm in an appropriate and reliable way. The different manufacturers are also to be identified through the marking. The two major manufacturers of SALW in Bulgaria - "ARSENAL" AD-Kazanlak and "ARKUS" AD - Liaskovetz use the following systems: 1. "ARSENAL": Registered trade mark of the manufacturer; Code of the year, quarter of the year, the month of manufacturing (alpha-numeric code); Serial number (numeric combination) 2. "ARKUS": Code of the year of manufacture (numeric code); Code of the month of manufacture (alphabetic combination); Modification and number of the item (numeric combination) "ISD –Bulgaria", Ltd produces semi-automatic rifles for the needs of the US market and those weapons are marked according to the US requirements.
