National Marking Practices
All manufacturers must mark and register all SALW that are produced with a unique marking. The marking must include information on: country of production, type of weapon, cal of weapon, production year, unique identification number, CIP mark.
Marking at the time of import:
All importers must mark and register all SALW that are imported.
Marking of SALW in the possession of government
armed and security forces:
Government and security forces are obliged to mark SALW in their possession which lack the required markings.
Measures against the removal or alteration of markings:
Accurate and comprehensive records for all marked SALW
within their territory:
Records are kept for 20 years. Hungary has produced a brochure on registration as well as data reports.
