National laws, regulations and administrative procedures:

A new gun law was drafted in the latter part of 2007 which has toughened provisions on the aquisition and carrying of arms and made national legislation compatible with the provisions of the UN Firearms Protocol and relevant EU regulations.



National Marking Practices:

Each piece of SALW manufactured in the Republic of Serbia is embossed with the manufacturer's sign, its name and model and the serial number. SALW cartridges are marked by manufacturers by the printing of the following data on the cartridge part next to the primer: abridged name of the manufacturer, bullet calibre and the last two numbers of the year of manufacture.

Marking at the time of import:

Marks of the country of manufacture are not changed.

Marking of SALW in the possession of government armed and security forces:

Measures against the removal or alteration of markings:


Accurate and comprehensive records for all marked SALW within their territory:

The weapons control certificate department of the manufacturer keeps records of the SALW that are manufactured and of SALW customer data.
