National laws, regulations and administrative procedures:

As part of the reform of laws, regulations and administrative procedures aimed at controlling the proliferation, manufacture, circulation, marketing, brokering, marking and tracing of small arms and light weapons, the Togolese National Commission has submitted to the Government draft legislation on an arms control regime in Togo.

Accurate and comprehensive records for all marked SALW within their territory:

Registers are kept of legally owned weapons. The register of weapons in the possession of the army, gendarmerie and paramilitary forces is maintained by the Ministry of Defence and Veterans’ Affairs, while the register of civilian-owned weapons is maintained by the Ministry of Security and Civil Protection. Following the establishment of prefecture and sub-prefecture committees to combat the proliferation of small arms and light weapons, the National Commission launched a programme for the voluntary registration of persons in illicit possession of small arms and light weapons by opening registers in all prefectures and sub prefectures.
