Module IX of the “training the trainers” course was originally inspired by the University for Peace and the need to implement the UN Programme of Action 2001 (III, 2,8,17,18; IV 1 d), and the CIFTA Convention (V, XV, 1). The module sets out the general concepts of distance learning, the differences with traditional classroom learning, and the facilities it offers to those people who, due to time and resource constraints, cannot attend a conventional class, as is often the case for law enforcement officers. It covers essential infrastructure required for distance learning programmes and discusses a concrete teaching model. |
