Module II of the “Training the trainers” course was originally inspired by CICAD, the need to implement the 1997 CIFTA Convention (II, XIII, XIV, XVII), and the United Nations Programme for Action (IV, 1,d; 2,a, b). The objective of the module is firstly to give the reader general knowledge related to national, regional and international norms, laws and regulations on the subject of firearms and explosives by providing detailed information with illustrative examples. It serves to promote knowledge of legal norms and instruments that can be applied together with national laws in the daily work of law enforcement officials. |
